The Daily Wire is looking for an Employment Paralegal to join our Human Resources team in Nashville, TN! The Employment Paralegal will provide support to our in-house General Counsel / HR department head, ensure that legal standards with regard to employment law are adhered to, and manage and/or provide guidance on all HR compliance matters. Our ideal candidate has at least 2 years of professional Paralegal and/or HR Compliance Specialist experience. Additionally, he or she has excellent discernment, possesses a high level of attention-to-detail, and demonstrates strong organizational and time-management skills. Responsibilities:

  • Draft, revise, and organize various contracts, including but not limited to: employee agreements, independent contractor agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and entertainment production agreements I
  • Assist General Counsel in creating and maintaining corporate records, maintaining intellectual property portfolio, and other special projects and initiatives
  • Manage contracts
    • Ensure timely completion and tracking of contract status changes
    • Ensure integrity of data entry into contract management system
    • File contracts
    • Prepare contract reports
  • Prepare documentation required for various licenses
  • Register entities with state and local taxing authorities
  • Prepare and file annual HR compliance and other reports
  • Handle federal, state, and local payroll-related tax administration including: tax notices, tax audits, and escalated issues
  • Manage annual reporting related to 401(k) compliance testing, ACA, and EEO-1
  • Manage additional reporting including financial/ accounting requests, census, EEOC, Workers Compensation data, wage analysis, etc.)
  • Responsible for internal compliance audits
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience & Requirements:

  • Nashville, TN -based position (working remotely is not an option)
  • 2+ years working as a Paralegal in Employment Law and/or as an HR Compliance Specialist
  • Expert in federal, state, and municipal labor laws/regulations, with proven working knowledge of discrimination, harassment, wage and hour and compliance, including agency familiarity: EEOC, DFEH, DLSE, DOL, DOR, DES
  • Familiarity and basic knowledge of FMLA, ERISA, FMLA, COBRA, ADA, Title VII, FICA, FUTA, NLRA
  • Knowledge of HR terminology and principles
  • Experience with entertainment industry contracts, corporate law, and/or business entity formation is a plus
  • Extremely organized and excellent time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to digest, analyze, and effectively interpret laws and regulations in a manner consistent with internal HR team’s needs
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot issues and provide solutions
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software products
  • Apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations
  • Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations
  • G-Suite proficiency

Compensation: $65K - $75K
