The Daily Wire seeks a seasoned Senior Systems Engineer with previous experience running all IT systems-related activities of an established media company to join our Technology team in Nashville, Tennessee. In this position, the Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for the strategy and execution of building and maintaining strong systems connections and sound technology practices. Responsibilities:

  • Experience with various vendor enterprise servers, storage, networking, software, and application services or equivalent depth in a single solution platform area
  • Experience with virtualization technologies
  • Experience with cloud-based technology
  • Experience with architecting, designing, securing, installing, troubleshooting, Active Directory, and Single Sign On (SSO)
  • Maintains the operating system and security software utilized on the network, including the addition of new users to the network and the establishment of rights and privileges
  • Maintains the local area network or wide area network, Internet, or intranet environments
  • Maintain Active Directory (AD) Domains, AD OU Structure, Group Policies, certificates
  • Partner with vendors on creating firewall rules to enable business application access
  • Troubleshoot application connectivity issues leveraging system, network, and firewall logs
  • Provide 24x7 priority on-call support assessment and resolution of escalated production issues, further escalating to other internal or external parties when the issue cannot be resolved independently
  • Perform root-cause analysis of complex issues ranging through platform hardware, operating system, application, network, and information security systems while working closely with stakeholders to quickly arrive at inventive and long-term solutions
  • Participate in designing systems for PCI, data governance, and data privacy
  • Research various hardware and software resources to identify strengths, weaknesses, potential benefits to the organization, and the time to rebuild
  • Engages with internal and external parties via tickets, email, direct communication channels such as Zendesk, JIRA, Zoom, Teams, and periodic meetings
  • Participates in our scrum process, tracking your work in process, updating JIRA tickets regularly, and peer validating the work of others, participate in weekly planning meetings and technical help sessions, ensuring you understand your work
  • Performs analysis at all levels of the total systems product including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal
  • Performs technical planning, system integrations, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
  • Considers and evaluates alternatives accounting for similar metrics
  • Manages configuration process, performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software applications
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Performs architectural exploration
  • Decomposes customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements and generates verification criteria and plans for the requirements

Experience & Requirements:

  • Nashville, TN -based position (working remotely is not an option)
  • 8-10 years previous professional experience in a similar role required
  • Previous relevant experience within an established media organization
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive mentality
  • Experience working with on-premise infrastructure is a plus
  • Brake Controls and Proximity Sensing Systems
  • Model Based Systems Engineering, including SysML and Simulink toolsets
