The Daily Wire is looking for a Vice President of Development to join our Development team in Nashville, Tennessee! The Vice President of Development will be responsible for the day-to-day development of scripted and non-scripted entertainment projects at Daily Wire. He or she will be responsible for delivering the company's annual slate of movies, series, documentaries, literary acquisitions, and podcasts. Responsibilities:

  • Manage and review incoming submissions, scripts, material, and pitches
  • Read scripts, take meetings, give notes, and work on finding the intellectual property or source material that can be turned into movies, series, or other projects
  • Support senior management in the day-to-day development of the company's slate of entertainment projects
  • Manage creative decisions regarding development, aligning with the company's creative focus and strategy
  • Partner with the Producers and Production Executives of assigned projects through each stage of development and production
  • Find and develop projects and scout for new talent for development
  • Work closely with Writers, Producers, Directors, and third-party production entities that the company partners with
  • Maintain strong relationships with all internal stakeholders, as well as agency heads and creative talent
  • Provide support to Executives on projects in all stages including prep, production, and post-production
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key external parties (i.e. Producers, filmmakers, agents, financiers, film industry execs etc.)
  • Partner with Legal and Business Affairs on development and production issues as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience & Requirements:

  • Nashville, TN -based position
  • 5+ years relevant work experience in a similar position
  • Strong relationships with agencies, management companies, and producers
  • Deep understanding of film and television development and production processes
  • Demonstrated experience providing clear and constructive notes (written and verbal)
  • Strong knowledge of film and television (past and present)
  • Strong knowledge of story structure
  • Excellent creative instincts
  • Highly self-motivated and self-starting
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced and high-energy work environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • G-suite proficiency

Employment type: Full-time; Exempt

Compensation: $100K-$150K
