The Director of Digital Product Marketing will set strategies for and oversee digital marketing operations in the area of Email Marketing, App Notifications, Pop-Ups, and SMS. This role will focus on product positioning, marketing strategy, value proposition, and sales enablement that drives memberships and helps decrease churn.

Our ideal candidate has experience leading product marketing teams that craft large-scale digital communication campaigns with a proven success of driving growth, increasing awareness, and improving overall audience engagement through the design and execution of digital communication programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, plan, and implement the company's overall digital communications strategy relating to email, SMS, and app notifications
  • Develop competitive positioning, branding, and corporate messaging strategies through the above-mentioned mediums
  • Increase revenue per contact through optimization and segmentation
  • Set campaign performance standards and track progress against expectations
  • You'll coach your team to build deep, collaborative partnerships with our Product teams and build a bridge between product strategy and marketing strategy
  • Set the vision for go-to-market strategy, monitor key performance indicators, understand the dynamics of direct sales and the channel, influence team towards common goals
  • Work with a cross-functional team (e.g. sales, marketing, product management, engineering, communications)
  • Foster a deep understanding of our users and customers, and help evangelize that understanding with leadership and partner teams
  • Bring ideas about how we can turn product proof points into marketing content that drives new user adoption
  • Build a trusted partnership with product and business leaders to influence the product roadmap to deliver on customer needs through new features and products
  • Drive campaigns that contribute direct bottom line impact on revenue and usage
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience & Requirements:

  • 5+ years prior Marketing experience in a similar industry with an emphasis on Digital Product Marketing
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills with prior experience building out high-functioning Digital Product Marketing teams
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the demonstrated ability to develop creative and non-traditional solutions
  • Comfortable pivoting quickly on short notice to accommodate the demands of a fast-paced and ever-evolving workflow
  • Thrive in a fast-paced and achievement-oriented environment
  • G-suite proficiency
  • Interest in and/or familiarity with the political and editorial news landscapes a plus
